Recommended Psychologist Fee Schedule in Alberta

Effective January 1, 2025, the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) recommends the following fee schedule for psychological services:
Individual Therapy/Assessment – $235.00 per hour
Couples/Family Therapy/Assessment – $235.00 per hour
Group Therapy (per person) – $110.00 per session
Report Writing and Documentation - $235.00 per hour of writing and preparation time
Consultation/Corporate Services (half-day) – $1,100.00
Consultation/Corporate Services (full-day) – $2,200.00

90 minute session - $325
(Adults and Adolescents ages 12 and up)
Couples Counselling
60 minute session - $235

Group Counselling
Varies depending on the group
60-120 minutes
$65-$110 per session
Client Report Writing and Documentation
Client documentation fees are billed at a rate of $235.00 per 60 minutes of writing and preparation time.
This includes the creation of treatment summaries, progress reports, letters, and any other documentation requested by the client or third parties (e.g., insurance providers, legal representatives, or other healthcare professionals). Fees are based on the actual time required to complete the documentation and are not included in standard session rates.
Consultation, Corporate Services, and Public Engagement
Half-Day - $600
Full-Day- $1200
Appointments are available in-person, online, or by telephone.
Your employee benefits or extended health coverage may fully or partially cover session fees.
Direct billing available for Alberta Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP), Greenshield,
Sunlife, Interim Federal Health Program, and Veteran Affairs.
For other providers, detailed invoices to support reimbursement through your insurance plan will be provided.
Payment is accepted via cash, e-transfer, Visa Debit, VISA, Mastercard, or American Express.
Payment is due at the time of service.
